I believe that when we learn to better understand ourselves, we become better partners for our horses—and that is where meaningful growth and lasting success truly begin.

Horses have been at the heart of my life for more than 40 years, shaping not only my career but also my understanding of connection, learning, and personal growth.

My journey began in the competitive equestrian world, specialising in show-jumping and the development of horses from their early education through to the competition arena. Along the way, I have had the privilege of training and working with horses both in Australia and Europe, gaining valuable experience across a variety of disciplines and environments.

Over the years, my career has expanded into roles as an Equestrian Australia NCAS Level 1 Coach, Course Designer, and Head Educator for a TAFE Equine Studies program. These experiences have reinforced my passion for helping both horses and people develop their skills, confidence, and potential.

While performance and achievement remain important, my greatest passion lies in coaching and education. Through decades of working within the performance horse industry, I discovered that horses offer us far more than athletic success. They have an extraordinary ability to reflect our emotions, energy, communication, confidence, and mindset. They become honest teachers, helping us understand ourselves more deeply.

My studies and experience in Equine Facilitated Learning have transformed the way I work with horses and people. I have come to appreciate that the strongest partnerships are built not only through technical skill but through self-awareness, trust, authenticity, and connection.

Today, I combine my extensive equestrian knowledge with principles of personal development and self-discovery to create coaching experiences that support both horse and rider. Whether working with competitive riders, recreational horse owners, or individuals seeking personal growth, my focus is on helping people develop greater awareness of themselves, strengthen their relationship with their horse, and create partnerships built on understanding, confidence, and mutual trust.

Every horse is unique. Just like their riders, horses have individual personalities, learning styles, strengths, and athletic abilities. Developing a successful jumping partnership is not about applying a one-size-fits-all approach; it is about understanding the individual horse and discovering how horse and rider can work together as a team.

The partnership that develops between horse and rider through jumping is something truly special. It is built on trust, communication, understanding, and shared experience, creating a connection that is often difficult to put into words.

Finding this level of connection is like creating a unique formula for success. Drawing on a lifetime of experience as a competitive rider, coach, trainer, and show-jumping course designer, I specialise in helping riders develop this formula by building a deeper understanding of both their horse and themselves.

While technical riding skills are an important part of jumping, they are only one piece of the puzzle. Riders often focus on improving position, balance, accuracy, and technique because these are visible and measurable aspects of progress. However, some of the most influential factors in successful jumping occur beneath the surface.

A rider's thoughts, emotions, confidence, and mindset have a direct impact on their communication with their horse. Horses are highly perceptive and sensitive to human energy and intention. They respond not only to our physical aids but also to the emotions and beliefs we bring into every ride.

Developing a successful jumping partnership therefore requires a journey of self-development as well as skill development. Self-awareness, emotional regulation, positive self-talk, confidence, and trust all contribute to clearer communication and stronger performance. When riders learn to understand and manage their internal responses, they become more effective leaders and partners for their horses.

My coaching approach combines the development of technical jumping skills with the development of the rider as an individual. By strengthening both aspects, horse and rider can build a partnership based on trust, confidence, understanding, and mutual success.

Because when horse and rider are truly connected, jumping becomes more than a sport—it becomes a conversation, a partnership, and a shared journey of growth.

Self awareness and Reconnect with Yourself through Horses

Horses offer a unique opportunity to step away from the noise and reconnect with what is authentic and true. Sometimes the greatest lessons we learn are not taught through words, but experienced through connection.

Horses offer a unique opportunity to step away from the noise and reconnect with what is authentic and true. Sometimes the greatest lessons we learn are not taught through words, but experienced through connection.

In today's fast-paced world, it is easy to become disconnected from ourselves. The constant demands of work, family, responsibilities, and expectations can leave little time to pause, reflect, and truly listen to what is happening within us. Over time, fear, anxiety, self-doubt, and limiting beliefs can begin to shape our thoughts, influence our decisions, and affect our overall wellbeing.

Through guided workshop activities, participants are invited to slow down, become present, and engage in meaningful experiences that encourage self-discovery and personal growth.

As highly sensitive and sentient beings, horses have an extraordinary ability to respond to our energy, emotions, and intentions. They live fully in the present moment and provide honest, immediate feedback without judgement or expectation. Their presence creates a safe and supportive space where individuals can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours with greater awareness.

Many participants describe their interactions with horses as both powerful and transformative. Horses have a remarkable ability to help us gain clarity, identify patterns that may be holding us back, and reconnect with our strengths, confidence, and inner wisdom.

Unlike people, horses do not judge our past, compare us to others, or place expectations upon us. Instead, they meet us exactly where we are. Through this authentic connection, they support us in developing deeper self-awareness, building confidence, and discovering new perspectives about ourselves and our lives.

Whether you are seeking greater balance, navigating change, overcoming self-doubt, or simply looking to reconnect with yourself, horses can become trusted partners in your journey of growth and transformation.
